All Is Well

draft_lens1964928module10331671photo_1215307619all_is_wellNo matter how “bad” things seem to you, or to someone else looking at your situation, you have a choice.  You can choose to accept the situation and find a positive perspective, or you can choose to look at the situation as awful.  Regardless of what you choose, you are right!

Here it is perfectly said by Ester & Jerry Hicks:

Nothing needs to be fixed. Everything is unfolding perfectly. So when you stand in your now accepting that all is well, then from that vibration, you become surrounded by more and more evidence that all is well. But when you’re convinced that things are broken, that there is pollution, or that things have gone wrong, or that the government is doing conspiracies… then what happens is you get caught up in that vibration, and you begin to manifest that kind of stuff, and then you say, “See, I told you that things were going wrong.”

You can change your entire life with this one tip!

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

One of the things I’ve learned, and still practice, in yoga is to be nonreactive.  As I practice breathing, relaxing, and letting go while my shoulders are burning and my thigh is yelling at me, I become aware that my mind is more calm and I get a sense of ease, strength, and peace.  It can be so easy to have a negative reaction when the teacher calls out a pose I don’t like, or when a sub walks in that I wasn’t expecting, but all that does is make the situation worse.  If I change my reaction to these things and make them more positive, or don’t react at all then my outcome is way better.

You choose how you want to respond.

You choose how you want to respond.

As I take what I’ve learned on my yoga mat and apply it to real life, I realize that everything we experience (good or bad) is because of our reaction or response to it.  This same nonreactive principal that I’ve learned in yoga can also be applied to our life.  Jack Canfield has a formula that he teaches:

E + R = O  (Events + Responses = Outcome)

The idea is that everything you experience is because of how you responded to an earlier event in your life.  If you aren’t enjoying the outcomes that you are experiencing right now, there are basically two choices you can make.

1.  You can blame the event for the outcome.

There’s a ton of external factors that we can blame.  We can blame the economy for not having a job.  We can blame our boss or our clients for having a bad day.  We can blame the rain for not working out.  We can blame our lack of money for not starting our dream business.  We can blame a lack of time for eating fast food.  Excuses.  Excuses.  Excuses.

We’ve all done this right?  I know I have.  Going back to yoga…I was in a workshop last week and I noticed I was making excuses for why I wasn’t getting into a pose.

There’s no doubt that these blame factors exist, but it’s up to us to overcome them.  There are tons of people who are still employed and very successful.  I see people out walking in the rain all the time.  For every impossible thought we have, there are many out there that think it is possible.

OR

2.  You can change your responses to the events until you get the outcomes you want.

Can we respond differently to the events that happen?  If we get fired, maybe we take the time to educate ourselves and learn a new skill.  If the boss is being a hard ass, maybe we have some compassion for him rather than gossiping with other coworkers about how awful he is.  He may be having a lot of personal issues at home, or had a father that was hard on him.

We can change our thinking, the way we communicate, and our behavior because really that’s all that we have control over anyway.  We don’t necessarily have control over any extremal event.  All we have control over is our responses to them!

We tend to get stuck in our habits and the way we respond  to our children, our spouses, the traffic, and our bosses.  So we must gain control of our thoughts, our behavior, the images we hold in our head, and our dreams.

We need to know what we want, and then everything we think, say, and do needs to align with our goals, our intentions, and our values.

In the words of Jack Canfield: If we all experience the same EVENT, the OUTCOME you get will be totally dependent upon your RESPONSE to the situation.

If you don’t like your outcomes, you must change your responses.  It’s that simple!

Do you worry about things all the time?  Do you fret over everything?  Do you think of the worse possible scenarios?  If so, do you realize that worrying is just your imagination creating something that you don’t want?

worry21I catch myself worrying about the craziest, most ridiculous stuff!  Actually, it’s not really worrying that I do so much, but I’ll just have crazy ideas pop in my head.  For instance, almost every time I drive over a train track I think, for just a brief moment, what if a train comes barreling down and slams into me.  Or if I’m driving behind a truck that has a ladder or something sticking off the back I might think what if that ladder slides off the truck and goes right into my windshield and nails me in the face.  Basically, I just think of freak accidents happening to me &/or my family.  It’s so weird.  I hate it.

Like I said, worrying is just the imagination creating scenarios that you don’t want!  So, when I have these wild thoughts I immediately catch myself doing it and I snap out of it.  “Only good things come to me” is one of my mantras!

Being a firm believer in the Law of Attraction, I understand that thinking about things I don’t want only brings those unwanted things to me.  So I stop in my tracks (not on the train tracks – haha) and I think about what I want.  I only want good things to come to me.  And honestly…only good things do come to me.

If you worry a lot all you’re doing is imagining things happening that you don’t want to happen.  With all that energy focused on those unwanted things, you’re likely to manifest what you don’t want.  Then you get this scenario that you don’t want and it causes more worry.  More worry, creates more worry.  It’s a vicious circle!

The good news is that this works in the opposite way as well.  The less you worry, the less stuff you have to worry about.

The worrying has to stop.  Seriously.  If you think about it, most of the things you worry about don’t ever happen anyway so what’s the point?  It’s wasted energy.  It’s puts you in a funk, and it causes stress.  And I won’t even get on the topic of what stress does to you!!  Worry cannot change your circumstance, it only enhances it.

So here’s the deal.  Next time you start to worry, notice what you’re doing, and immediately stop.  Give yourself a mantra or affirmation.  They’re extremely powerful.

letting-go2Only good things come to me.

I choose to let go and allow goodness.

I am safe.

I choose to let go of things I have no control over.

I trust that everything will work out.

At first you may be saying these things as you’re rolling your eyes, but eventually you start to believe it.  When you start to believe it, you start to have faith that everything will work out.  That faith is what allows you to stop worrying.

Get Connected To Your Source Energy!

Just a quickie blog post this evening (actually it’s midnight and I’m wondering what I’m doing still up!)

This is from Ester & Jerry Hicks on the LOA.  I think this is important!

Appreciation and self-love are the most important tools that you could ever nurture. Appreciation of others, and the appreciation of yourself is the closest vibrational match to your Source Energy of anything that we’ve ever witnessed anywhere in the Universe.

Top 10 Reasons I LOVE being a Mom!

Maximus Henry - 3 1/2 years

My little Miles Everett (19 months) and big boy Maximus Henry (3 1/2 years) are the loves of my life.  I’m so fortunate to have great kids, and an amazing husband.  Here’s my top 10 reasons why I absolutely love being their mom (in no particular order)!

10.  That feeling when my children only want their Mommy.

9.  That relief when my children only want their Daddy!

8.  When I see their smiling faces the first thing in the morning, I know it’s going to be a great day!

7.  I’m completely, hysterically funny.

6.  I get to explain things like who I’m talking to on the phone and what they said…because Max just needs to know!

5.  Being around the pure, joyful, light energy that small children radiate.

4.  Because it’s the most important job I’ll ever have.

3.  Because they help to keep me grounded, and I know that nothing else matters besides the well-being of my family.

2.  Kids are so genuine, honest, and true to themselves; and I have the opportunity to teach them to stay that way.

1.  It’s a love like no other, and to have that kind of love in my heart is just priceless.

Thank you, Boys!  I love you~

What The World Needs Now Is Love

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Through the greatness of Facebook I reconnected with a friend from high school.  In 2003, Peggy Hudson, wrote this beautiful note.  She just recently shared it with her FB friends and I was fortunate enough to be one of them.

I thought it would be great to share her writing with you.  Enjoy~

love1It’s a beautiful day! It’s inherent for me to notice the beauty all around
me. Sometimes my mind refuses to operate with my soul. That’s when I must
re-mind myself. It’s fascinating to me the control the mind can have over
the mind. Or is that some other aspect of myself that can execute authority
over mind? What is really operating here? And if we’re all connected to
each other & everything – universal energy – what is that driving force? We
categorize into “individuals” – & say I’m like you or I’m not like you -
when in “reality” we are all connected. I think most of us usually forget
this. We see each other as separate entities. Yet we all take up space on
this planet. We are like the cells of Mother Earth – moving about – part of
the life force. How come there is hate? Why would we want to hate what is
connected to us? If we remember the connection, will we learn to love one
another? My hope is that we would.

My heart becomes heavy when I hear of sadness in our world – when I hear the
hurt in my patients’ voices – when I feel disconnected from others. The connection is vital to my survival. Sure, one could exist without it – yet
a failure to thrive would be evident. We need each other. Most of us just want to be acknowledged – appreciated for who we are – & love seems rather simple. So … why is it so hard to give? Why is it sometimes difficult to receive? What blocks people from opening their hearts & being love?

I think most of it centers around fear … fear of being vulnerable … fear of
being hurt … fear of being rejected.

So … most people want to be loved & respected. & most people fear being
hurt & rejected.

What would happen if all of us loved & respected ourselves & others?

Peace! Joy! Love!

So simple: an open heart of love!

And FEAR gets in the way – creating chaos & havoc. Is fear really necessary? I mean, seriously? If we extended more love, don’t we think we could create a more beautiful world? Fear does not seem the way – love does.

It seems imperative to me that we all need love – the song was not amiss – what the world needs now is love.

One huge beating heart! Pumping life in all of us. Just like in our individual bodies. We must keep it healthy in order to live & survive & thrive. We will become sick & infected if we do not take care of ourselves. Fear is a toxin. Our immune system is becoming more & more depleted. We need to renew ourselves – replenish ourselves. & LOVE seems like the tonic.
That magical elixir that can restore our balance. We need the equilibrium restored. How can we move forward if we have become weakened? We need our strength. We cannot function if we have no genuine power. We will be deficient & unable to give our best. We will experience the feelings of illness because we are not tending to each other. Mother Earth needs our
nurture & we need to nurture her & each other.

And it can begin. It is possible. All we need to do is re-member (we are all members) that with love anything is possible. Anything! We can create a better world. A better place for all beings – a better place for our children.

I am willing to make my contribution to the whole. I am willing to be a part of the magic. I am willing to touch the divine. I am willing to extend the mysterious energy of love.

My eyes are open. & when I look through eyes of love with a hint of compassion, I see clearly. The light helps us to see. And the light is available to all of us every single day. We must take advantage of this light. It’s as simple as flipping a switch – or igniting a flame. The fire is a part of our system. Without the light, all becomes dark – we cannot see – & this can induce fear – fear of the unknown – the unseen. We just have to remember that night can befall us yet the sun will always rise – it never permanently sets – in reality, the sun never fades. It is always burning brightly. And even when we feel it is dark, Mother Moon lights Father Sky & reminds us we are never, ever alone. We can always see if we just open our eyes – open our hearts – open our minds to this marvelous universe.

The light is here – it is there – it is everywhere. Before life – after death. And now – if we remember.

Thank you *

This came to my inbox this morning and I just love it.  It’s an excerpt from the book “Money and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Health, Wealth and Happiness” by Jerry and Esther Hicks.

Love and appreciation are identical vibrations. Appreciation is the vibration of alignment with who-you-are. Appreciation is the absence of everything that feels bad and the presence of everything that feels good. When you focus upon what you want – when you tell the story of how you want your life to be – you will come closer and closer to the vicinity of appreciation, and when you reach it, it will pull you toward all things that you consider to be good in a very powerful way.

I find this to be so true.

I have a gratitude journal that I write in everyday…okay, not everyday, but 5 or 6 times/week!  And what I’ve found in doing this is that out of the blue, almost when it’s least expected, I’ll have this overwhelming feeling of appreciation.  It’s this amazing feeling that just comes over me out of nowhere.  Sometimes it’ll last for just a few seconds, and other times it’ll stay with me longer.

It makes me smile just thinking about it!

Each journal entry starts with “I’m so happy & thankful now that…”.  I’ll list things that have happened (or I’ve gotten), things I currently have, things I want to happen, and how I want my life to be.  So it’s important to understand that it doesn’t just have to be things that have happened, but how you want your future to be…all put into the present moment.

My suggestion today…get a gratitude journal!  Quick!

How high can ya go? I’m excited to find out!

Illustration of vibrations of a drum.
Image via Wikipedia

This morning when I woke up I thought about my brother and how I should call him to see how he’s doing.  It had been a while since I have spoken to him, so I just wanted to call and say hi.  The thought entered my head as I was getting dressed, but then like that, it was gone.  I just let the thought go and didn’t think of it again.  Then at about 11:00 this morning my phone rings and guess who it is?  My brother, Kody!

I’m not a big phone person, and he’s WAY not a phone person.  Typically, if he calls me it’s for a certain reason.  But not today…he was just calling to see how I was.  I’m sure you’ve had this type of thing happen to you as well.  We all have.  When I told him I had thouht about him this morning he said “great minds think alike”.  I said “Yes they do, but this isn’t a coincidence.  This is the Law of Attraction“.  Then he said “What?”, and I said “Never mind!” haha (Can someone forward my blog to him?)

The Law of Attraction (LOA) is at work ALL the time, whether we know it or not.  It’s working through the vibration that our energy puts out.  Our thoughts are energy.  If we think positive thoughts, that raises the frequency of our energy.  (Negative thoughts have a low frequency.)  However, just having positive thoughts is one thing.  If you couple your positive thoughts with feeling good and having good feeling emotions, then you’ve really raised the frequency.  When you live with a high frequency, then things like thinking of someone and then suddenly they call, will happen all the time and without any effort.  This morning I briefly thought of my brother and then let it go.  There was absolutely no effort on my part.  He just called and I got to speak to him like I wanted.

So it occurred to me that if something small like a call from someone or getting a great parking space can happen with little effort, then why couldn’t something REALLY fabulous happen, something that you really want and desire also happen with little effort?

If I can elevate the frequency of my energy even higher, then the possibilities are limitless because as the LOA states “like attracts like”.  The more I stay and live with a high frequency, the more I can manifest what I want.  In other words, the greater my frequency, the greater the gift.  If I can elevate the frequency of my energy even higher, then I can manifest more and more and more of the things that I truly desire.  I can manifest bigger and better things (no offense, Kody!).  If I can live my life in a constant state of high positive thoughts, energy, and feelings then I can have everything that I want with little effort.  Life is easy and smooth sailing!

Don’t get it twisted!  I’m not saying that I have positive thoughts and poof I have a new car (although this did happen to me!).  Okay, maybe I am saying that, but what I’m really saying is that I’m going to have positive thoughts and feelings and raise my vibration to a level that awesomeness can occur WITH effortless effort!!

So, what in the hell is effortless effort, you may be asking.  Great question.  I’ll blog about that next but basically it’s a doing that doesn’t feel like doing.  It’s like trees growing.  They “do”, but without “doing”.

I’m on a path to higher and higher vibrations.  I know this LOA stuff works.  If I can easily get someone to call me out of the blue, then how exciting is it to manifest something even greater.  Want to join me?  Let’s see how high we can go!

I’m a proud Spirit Jumper.

Monday, April 13th, 2009

proudbutton-1Through the greatness that is the Internet, I recently came in contact with a woman named Meaghan.  She is a cancer survivor.  Here’s what she said on her website.  “My battle was a difficult one and with only a 20% chance of surviving my spirits were low. However, the bright moments I had during those dark times were when I returned to either my hospital room or home I was met with a little special something”.

Meaghan began a project called Spirit Jump.  What she does is connect people that would like to help lift a spirit with cancer patients that are needing a little lift!  You can send any kind of gift, whether it be a handmade card, flowers, something you hand make, or even a blanket.  I think this is such a great idea and I wanted to be a part of it.  So…I’m now a proud “Spirit Jumper”!

Here’s how it worked – Stacy Billlow (Meaghan’s partner in the project and a cancer patient herself) sent out an email to all the Spirit Jumpers listing cancer patients that need a lift.  In this particular email there were 5 people listed.  She had a little info about each person.  I picked who I wanted to “jump” and let Stacy know.  She responded with the girl’s address and I sent a gift directly to her.  It was that easy!

I didn’t get much information about the “young woman” I picked.   Her name is Sara and she’s from New York.  I don’t even know what kind of cancer she’s dealing with, but I don’t care.  I just want to brighten her day!  I sent her a special BE Charmed.  I hope she likes it, and will really use it!  She can hang the charm on her handbag and whenever she sees it I gave her this affirmation to say: “I lovingly forgive and release all of the past.  I choose to fill my life with joy.  I love and approve of myself.”  She’s welcome to not say the affirmation and just get present in the moment and find her stillnes, her peace, her spirit!  Either way, I hope her spirit is lifted.

I’m so happy to be a part of this project.  It gives me much appreciation for my health, and it feels so great to give.  In fact, I get a little spirit jump too!

If you’d like to participate and be a proud Spirit Jumper, please visit their website: http://spiritjump.blogspot.com/

Spirit Jump is currently working on getting their non-profit status.  Good luck with that, Girls!  And thank you so much for all you do!  You’re both amazing women, and my thoughts and prayer are with you!
