I’m going to be very, very, very happy…first!

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

busy-ladyWe all get crazy busy with the holidays, right?  Remember this:

Just do your best to keep yourself in balance. One of the first things that causes Energy misalignment, is asking or demanding too much of yourself in terms of time and effort. In other words, you just cannot burn the candle at both ends, so that you are physically tired, and then expect yourself to have a cheerful attitude. So, the rule of thumb has to be: “I’m going to be very, very, very happy, and then do everything I have time to do after that.”

This is from Abraham (Ester & Jerry Hicks) at an LOA workshop in 2005.

This feels good!

appreciation_01Day 21.

I can’t believe it’s been 3 weeks since I started this challenge.  Life goes by way too fast, which is why there’s no point in stressing, worrying, doubting, complaining, etc.  It’s all a complete waste of time.  Just think how different your life would be without doing all those things.  How different would your life be if you enjoyed every moment…if you took in all the little things that life offers you at that moment (good and “bad”) and were just totally grateful for it?  That’s what this challenge has helped me realize.

I’m understanding that what I consider problems or issues or stress or crazy situations is just my perspective of it.  When I shift my perspective to a more positive one, I get different results.  If I just shift my perspective to a grateful one, it changes the entire circumstance.

This challenge has made me feel better, and I’m so grateful for that because I know that feeling good is what it’s all about.  Don’t we all just want to feel good?  Doesn’t our life basically boil down to that one statement…I want to feel good!

When I would get irritated with toys strung all over the house, I would think how grateful we are to have all these toys.  When I want to honk & cuss at the car in front of me for not going fast enough, I would think how grateful I am for being safe and how grateful I am that I get to go wherever it is that I was headed.  When I had to make a choice, I was grateful that I get to make a choice and that I have options.  When I didn’t feel like making dinner, I was grateful that I had food to make, that I had a house to cook it in and clean dishes and gas to heat it.

This feels good!

This gratitude challenge has made me stop, take the time, and write about my gratitude.  I’m so thankful I did.  It puts things in perspective.  I realize more and more everyday just how great I have it, just how great my life is.  It has given me peace, and allows me to just relax and take it all in…to enjoy the now moment.

This feels good!

As you know (or maybe you don’t), I’m a HUGE believer in the Law of Attraction, where like attracts like.  When I have a feeling of appreciation it’s an energy that I radiate.  That energy is drawing to itself more energy of the same quality, so more things are coming into my experience for me to be appreciative of.

This feels good!

The challenge ends today, but I will never stop being grateful.  I will continue to write in my gratitude journal, and I will continue to be open to receive more good things in my life.

WOW – THIS FEELS GOOD!

(And thank you so, so much to everyone that reads my blog!)

I let it go and caught a buzz!

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

255-4228_24_36I skipped making a blog post yesterday on the gratitude challenge because I really wasn’t quite sure what to write.  I was just thinking I’d be repeating myself, which is fine if I’m drunk!  haha  So I just let it go.

The assignment was to write about the challenge thus far and how it has changed my perspective.  This entire year, starting Jan. 1, I’ve been writing in a gratitude journal, so this challenge wasn’t really new to me.  What was new and why I wanted to take the challenge was because I wanted to blog about it everyday, and be accountable to you.

I would have to say that my perspective is always positive, so the challenge hasn’t necessarily changed my perspective about anything.  BUT, and here’s where it gets interesting…

There were 3 times yesterday where out of the blue, just at totally random times I would feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and appreciation.  I had this amazing feeling of just how awesome my life is.  It was an energy that came over me that made me feel high, so to speak.  The buzz didn’t last a real long time or anything, but it did keep me going for a while.

I’m so thankful for that feeling because I know that appreciation is an energetic feeling that vibrates at a really high frequency and when we can align energetically to this high frequency we are really connected to all that we are.  (If you are totally confused, read this post)  And, I know that the more we feel good (which gratitude and appreciation make us feel that way) the more good will come our way!

I love our oneness and appreciate our differences.

Friday, October 9th, 2009

I absolutely believe that we are all one.  We look at the same sky.  We drink from one water.  We breathe the same air.  We are one energy.

Marcus Aurelius says this:

“Think often of the bond that unites all things in the universe, and their dependence upon one another.  All things are interwoven with one another; a sacred bond unites them; there is scarcely one thing that is isolated from another. Everything is coordinated, everything works together in giving form to the one universe. The world order is a unity made up of multiplicity: God is one, pervading all things; all being is one, all law is one… and all truth is one…”

goup-of-hands-in-circle-uniqueness-thumb6524559While we are all connected, we are also all different.  Each one of us has our own unique abilities, talents, personalities, looks and thoughts.  I am so grateful we have these differences.  Can you imagine life if we were all the same?  How boring!!

I truly appreciate our differences.  I love that we all have different views and ideas.  While I don’t always agree, I keep an open mind.  And I appreciate that we have the freedom to express those different ideas.

I love that I can learn from different people, that I am entertained by different people, and that I can enjoy different people.  Thank you!

I think Bono says it best…

Too late
Tonight
To drag the past out into the light
We’re one, but we’re not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other
One

Thank you, Bono for giving us this song too!!

Top 10 Reasons I LOVE being a Mom!

Maximus Henry - 3 1/2 years

My little Miles Everett (19 months) and big boy Maximus Henry (3 1/2 years) are the loves of my life.  I’m so fortunate to have great kids, and an amazing husband.  Here’s my top 10 reasons why I absolutely love being their mom (in no particular order)!

10.  That feeling when my children only want their Mommy.

9.  That relief when my children only want their Daddy!

8.  When I see their smiling faces the first thing in the morning, I know it’s going to be a great day!

7.  I’m completely, hysterically funny.

6.  I get to explain things like who I’m talking to on the phone and what they said…because Max just needs to know!

5.  Being around the pure, joyful, light energy that small children radiate.

4.  Because it’s the most important job I’ll ever have.

3.  Because they help to keep me grounded, and I know that nothing else matters besides the well-being of my family.

2.  Kids are so genuine, honest, and true to themselves; and I have the opportunity to teach them to stay that way.

1.  It’s a love like no other, and to have that kind of love in my heart is just priceless.

Thank you, Boys!  I love you~

How high can ya go? I’m excited to find out!

Illustration of vibrations of a drum.
Image via Wikipedia

This morning when I woke up I thought about my brother and how I should call him to see how he’s doing.  It had been a while since I have spoken to him, so I just wanted to call and say hi.  The thought entered my head as I was getting dressed, but then like that, it was gone.  I just let the thought go and didn’t think of it again.  Then at about 11:00 this morning my phone rings and guess who it is?  My brother, Kody!

I’m not a big phone person, and he’s WAY not a phone person.  Typically, if he calls me it’s for a certain reason.  But not today…he was just calling to see how I was.  I’m sure you’ve had this type of thing happen to you as well.  We all have.  When I told him I had thouht about him this morning he said “great minds think alike”.  I said “Yes they do, but this isn’t a coincidence.  This is the Law of Attraction“.  Then he said “What?”, and I said “Never mind!” haha (Can someone forward my blog to him?)

The Law of Attraction (LOA) is at work ALL the time, whether we know it or not.  It’s working through the vibration that our energy puts out.  Our thoughts are energy.  If we think positive thoughts, that raises the frequency of our energy.  (Negative thoughts have a low frequency.)  However, just having positive thoughts is one thing.  If you couple your positive thoughts with feeling good and having good feeling emotions, then you’ve really raised the frequency.  When you live with a high frequency, then things like thinking of someone and then suddenly they call, will happen all the time and without any effort.  This morning I briefly thought of my brother and then let it go.  There was absolutely no effort on my part.  He just called and I got to speak to him like I wanted.

So it occurred to me that if something small like a call from someone or getting a great parking space can happen with little effort, then why couldn’t something REALLY fabulous happen, something that you really want and desire also happen with little effort?

If I can elevate the frequency of my energy even higher, then the possibilities are limitless because as the LOA states “like attracts like”.  The more I stay and live with a high frequency, the more I can manifest what I want.  In other words, the greater my frequency, the greater the gift.  If I can elevate the frequency of my energy even higher, then I can manifest more and more and more of the things that I truly desire.  I can manifest bigger and better things (no offense, Kody!).  If I can live my life in a constant state of high positive thoughts, energy, and feelings then I can have everything that I want with little effort.  Life is easy and smooth sailing!

Don’t get it twisted!  I’m not saying that I have positive thoughts and poof I have a new car (although this did happen to me!).  Okay, maybe I am saying that, but what I’m really saying is that I’m going to have positive thoughts and feelings and raise my vibration to a level that awesomeness can occur WITH effortless effort!!

So, what in the hell is effortless effort, you may be asking.  Great question.  I’ll blog about that next but basically it’s a doing that doesn’t feel like doing.  It’s like trees growing.  They “do”, but without “doing”.

I’m on a path to higher and higher vibrations.  I know this LOA stuff works.  If I can easily get someone to call me out of the blue, then how exciting is it to manifest something even greater.  Want to join me?  Let’s see how high we can go!

I love my new shopping cart. Thanks, Ryan!

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

With the help of an amazing IT guy, Ryan Meinzer, I am proud to announce the relaunch of my website.  Actually, it’s  just the shopping cart area of my site.  BUT — I do hope you’ll check it out (and Ryan…he’s fast, efficient, easy to understand (he is an IT guy afterall), and can totally hook you up if you need any help in this department.  And, he writes a really good blog too!jadenk)

Getting back to me…haha  As you can tell by the name of my company, Self Symmetry, I’m all about finding balance.  I believe that when you find balance; physically, mentally, and spiritually, that you are completely and wholly healthy!  I’m also all about feeling good.   If we can get ourselves feeling good all the time, then our lives will be free flowing and easy.  (I’m not saying that we shouldn’t experience any other emotion, but just that our dominate state should be good and positive.)

With my strong belief in finding balance and feeling good I teach yoga, make jewelry, and now this blog.  If you’re in Dallas/Plano, I would love to have you come take a class of mine.  See my schedule for details.  If you’re not in Dallas, then just go check out a class in your ‘hood.  It’s really amazing, transforming, and healing.

If you’re interested in jewelry, browse around my new shopping cart.  I hand make everything and use semi precious gemstones.  Gemstones have healing properties to them.  They are from the earth, so they hold all kinds of positive energy…making you look good and feel good!  I attach a card to each piece of jewelry describing the stones used and what they do for you energetically.  Because of this, they make awesome, thoughtful gifts (Mother’s Day coming up…hint, hint).  However, if you don’t wear much jewelry, check out BE Charmed!  Who can’t use some extra positive energy?  Side note:  Guys…I don’t have any man jewelry on my site, but I can make you something.  I’ve made several pieces for guys so just email me and we’ll come up with something really manly!

If you’re reading this, then you found my blog.  Congrats!  I would say this blog is on the spiritual side.  It’s about my attempt to live life to the fullest, and all the things that I’ve learned and am still learning.

So there you have it…my shameless self promotion.  I hope you leave my yoga class (or any yoga class) feeling good.  I hope you feel good wearing my jewelry (I know you’ll look good!), and I hope reading my blog leaves you feeling inspired, hopeful, and optimistic!

And Ryan, you rock!  I can’t thank you enough!

Balanced and feeling good – Love, Kat

And the Oscar goes to…

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Watching the Oscars a few nights ago I noticed how most of the winners came up to accept their award and said “I’ve been dreaming about this day my whole life.” (okay, so I probably shouldn’t quote this as I don’t know that’s exactly what was said, but you get my drift).  My point is…this is the Law of Attraction (LOA)!

Anyone that has ever taken a yoga class from me knows how much I’m into LOA.  For those of you that are wondering what this is, here’s a short definition… like attracts like!  Everything that you experience, you bring about by your thoughts.  If you’re a positive thinker, then positive stuff always happens to you.  If you’re more negative, then you have more negative experiences.  It’s that simple…or is it??

The LOA is working constantly, whether you know it or not.  And it works because our thoughts are energy ( just like everything else in this universe).  The energy we emit (through our thoughts, actions, or words) is on a frequency, much like that of a radio signal.  So when we emit a high frequency (positive thoughts & actions are on a higher frequency) , we are attracting back to us high frequency energy (experiences,  stuff, or whatever you want to call it).  Side note…parenthesis are my new favorite thing!!

How AWESOME is this?  Do you understand what this means???  It means that you can have whatever you set your mind to.  Now I’m sure you’ve heard that before, but just kinda brushed it off.  I know I did to some degree, but now I get it.  And, now that I’m aware of the LOA, I see how it’s working all the time.  I got the car I wanted, I’m living in the house I want, this blog came about by the LOA…the list goes on because everything that I have and experience is because it started with a thought.  I do this, you do it, Einstein did it!  So the question now is can we deliberately create what we want?   Absolutely!

In my coming posts I’ll let you know exactly what I did to get the car I’m driving.  It’s a great story that gives me goosebumps everytime I think about it.

Until then, HAPPY thoughts!
